The 40-minute movie "Voices and Memories of the Class of 1981" originally aired at the 40th Reunion in June 2021. A brainchild of John Monsky (PC), Voices and Memories revisits our time at Yale through classmate interviews, music, and images. We’ll announce future showings on these pages. Meanwhile, enjoy the teaser clip by clicking the blue box at right.
Dozens of virtual visits enabled by the 40th Reunion had a common refrain: a wish to meet face-to-face. It’s not too late! You can plan your own mini-reunion—whether a watch party for The Game or a dinner in your home city or a hiking trip next summer, the possibilities are legion.
Four decades ago, we passed a major milestone, TOGETHER—as in being actually, physically, contemporaneously in the same place. The Old Campus...without masks. This spring, we assembled once again, but this time our togetherness took on a global scale. And we have the video to prove it! Click the PROGRAM EVENTS box in the lower right to see the actual historical reunion schedule.
Although Yale canceled in-person reunions this spring, we gathered—and celebrated—nonetheless. Your 40th Class Reunion Committee planned a cornucopia of online events that took advantage of our unusual opportunity to reunite virtually—without the constraints of geography or the time limits of a single weekend.
The 40th reunion was a big success. Technical glitches and all, the online format provided multiple fun ways to renew old connections and make new ones, highlight some of the enormous talent in our class, provide updates on the Yale of today and tomorrow, and help us all make the most of the years as we look forward.
